I still do not have an Arabic keyboard but I could not wait to share this delicious recipe with you.
As you know Autumn is the season for apple picking. And a new bunch of apples are sitting on our kitchen table every week. Instead of just munching on them, I decided to try some apple recipes. I found this apple muffin recipe which with the addition of some spices turned to be just perfect.
2 cups of flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
Mix these ingredients together well. then in a separate bowl mix:
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup finally chopped apples ( about 3 apples )
add these wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix well for 2 minutes.
Heat the oven 375 degrees. And grease the muffin cups.
Spoon the mixture into the 12 muffin cups. Before putting the pan in the oven, sprinkle the muffins with this crumb mixture:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tbp butter
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbp flour
mix well with a fork and sprinkle the muffins and place the pan in the oven for 20 minutes. Cool on a rack before serving with coffee.
